We spend at least eight hours a day, five days a week at work. It’s okay to feel stressed out and overloaded, what is not okay is to ignore it. We have done the research and all what you have to do is to follow it. Here are five ways to make working hours happier.
- Walk it off
Go for a 5-minute walk around the office every two hours at least. Sitting for long periods is thought to slow the metabolism, which affects the body’s ability to regulate blood sugar, blood pressure and break down body fat. It will also cause you a lot of back pain. When you go for a walk you give your body the change it needs
- Drink Lots of Fluids
By fluids we don’t mean coffee and tea. Stay away from caffeine as it will make you more stressed and will hurt you more than benefit you. Keep a bottle of water at your desk and always fill it with water, by time it will become a voluntary action to drink it. Water soothes your insides and staying hydrated will improve your mood.
- Decorate your Desk
Another thing that makes your work day harder is the routine. If you are always used to the same dull desk and smell you will automatically be depressed. Pimp your desk up by adding fresh flowers or even an air freshener and change it up every month. Add different props every month, and print a different motivational quote every week. This way you won’t ever get bored and will stay motivated.
- Listen to Music
Wearing headphones doesn’t always mean you’re antisocial. When working, listening to your favorite tunes can help you get into the zone and knock out your to-do list. By wearing headphones, you are also secretly telling people that you’d rather not be disturbed at the moment. This means you will still get to have your “Me time” during the busiest days.
- Create a to-do list
Knowing what you have to do and planning it in an organized way makes it easier to handle, by doing so this will save you effort and time and it will make working hours way easier. Finally, believe it or not there is an unexplainable joy in ticking off tasks.
Follow these steps and let us know what you think, and whatever it is we will always have your back! Don’t forget to always work hard and stay health!
