October is breast cancer awareness month. We are always told to look for signs and symptoms, and to do normal checkups but as a matter of fact, we can’t go for mammograms every single month. Mammograms should only be done when you are over forty years old, before that you should do manual check ups. Here is what you should be looking for.
A lump or thickening that feels different from the surrounding tissue
Change in the size, shape or appearance of a breast
Over the breast, such as dimpling
An inverted nipple is a condition in which the nipple is pulled inward into the breast instead of pointing outward.
Peeling, scaling or flaking of the pigmented area of skin surrounding the nipple (areola) or breast skin.
