Mr and Mrs US Open Ali Farag and Nour El Tayeb became the first married couple to win World Series titles on the SAME day Saturday night Oct 14th, 2017.
The couple Ali Farag and Nour El Tayeb; the squash champions have won a special achievement after being crowned with the US Open Squash Championship to be the first couple in the history of the game and in the history of any sport to make a world title on the same day.
An all Egyptian Finals
Nour El Tayeb won the final against her compatriot Raneem El Weleily, becoming the first Egyptian to win the US Squash Championship, while Farag beat Mohamed El Shorbagy.

The duo deserved the title of “History Makers”, which was called by the championship officials, especially there are no couples have done such achievement in any sport before.
More than a year ago, squash had collected the two hearts of Ali and Nour when they decided to marry in July 2016 and continued to win titles in various squash tournaments.
“When I finished my match, I just wanted to watch him and I was so nervous,” said El Tayeb.
“It’s a dream – I see him every day working hard so it feels really special that both of our first World Series titles happen to be together.”
Farag added: “We couldn’t have asked for a better week and I hope it’s the first of many to come together.”
