Quinoa is now being promoted as a fat-burning food. This super food has all essential amino acids your body needs, is filled with fiber, and vitamins among other nutrients. It can be tricky to include it in your diet if you are not sure how to use it in your meals; here are a couple of recipes to help you get started.



Quinoa Tabbouleh

We all like Lebanese food, especially Tabbouleh; you can now make it with Quinoa. You will need:

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of Quinoa
  • A pinch of salt
  • ¼ a cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon table sea salt
  • A diced cucumber
  • Diced green olives
  • 2 grated carrots
  • 1 cupped of chopped fresh parsley


Boil the water in a sauce pan then add the Quinoa and salt, reduce the heat, cover the pan and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Allow it to cool off afterwards and mix the fluffy mix with a fork.

Mix all other ingredients then add your cooled Quinoa. Voila! Enjoy your Quinoa Tabbouleh 😉


Curried Quinoa and Mango Salad

This spicy dish makes a great lunch and is easy and quick to prepare. Here is what you will need:

  • 1 ½ cups chicken stock
  • ¾ cups Quinoa
  • 1 ½ teaspoons curry powder
  • ¼ tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • ¼ tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 peeled, seeded and diced mango
  • 3 chopped green (spring) onions

Boil the Quinoa in the chicken stock with the curry powder, the garlic powder, salt and pepper over high heat. Then reduce the heat, cover the pan and simmer the mix for 15 minutes. Cool off your mix on a flat plate in room temperature, and then add your mangoes and onions. Bon Appetit!
