Manage Stress

Here are some tips that will help you cope with stress better:

Assess what is stressful: The first step is to figure out what is causing it. Take a good look at your physical condition and your daily activities. Do you suffer from pain? Are you overloaded at work? Once you identify your stressors, you can take steps to reduce them.

Seek social support: Spending time with family and friends is an important buffer against stress. It can be helpful to share your problems with people who care for you.

Practice thought management:  How we think of ourselves and what we expect often determine how we feel. Sometimes such thoughts add more to our stress level. Learn to manage those thoughts to manage stress.

Exercise: Exercise can help you release the negative energy including stress. Give yourself at least 30 minutes to work out and renew your energy.

Eat a healthy diet: According to WebMD, junk food and refined sugars low leave us feeling out of energy and sluggish. A healthy diet, low in sugar, caffeine, and alcohol, can promote health and reduce stress.

Get adequate sleep: A good night’s sleep makes you able to tackle your day better. When you are tired, you are less patient and more easily agitated. Most adults need 7-9 hours of sleep per night.

Delegate responsibility:  Having too many responsibilities is stressful. Decrease stress by delegating responsibilities.
